The Safe Driving Law became effective in Massachusetts on September 30, 2010.
The law creates a series of new violations, which are mainly aimed at certain uses of electronic devices while operating a motor vehicle in Massachusetts. The most well-known provision of the law is the Don’t Text & Drive component.
Also included in the law are provisions for elder drivers, as well as provisions for the inclusion of awareness campaigns for the new law.
