Winthrop Rotary Donates $1000 to Senior Center
Posted on Wed, Mar 11, 2009
(Winthrop, MA) The Winthrop Senior Center has accepted a check for $1000 from The Winthrop Rotary Club. The Senior Center, like many town departments, is in a precarious fiscal position.
“Look at all the seniors in here right now that would have nowhere to go and little to do were it not for the Senior Center. This place is buzzing with activity. Giving to the Senior Center to help keep it open is the right thing to do”, said Steve Roy, President of Winthrop Rotary.

“I am overwhelmed by the outpouring of support and generosity of everyone, including Rotary! Every day you go about doing your job for the seniors, and you wonder if people know, if people care. Make no mistake about it, I am convinced people really care about the Senior Center!”, exclaimed Nancy Williams, Director of the Senior Center.
Interested parties who may want to take part in supporting the Winthrop Senior Center may contact Nancy Williams at 617-846-8538, or stop by at 35 Harvard Street, Winthrop.
