Elliot Whittier and MiddleOak Insurance support the “Re-leafing of Winthrop” Project
Posted on Mon, Oct 27, 2008
October 27, 2008, (Winthrop, MA) Elliot Whittier Insurance Services has once again taken part in the Re-Leafing of Winthrop Project. To commemorate the 125th Anniversary of Elliot Whittier Insurance and with the help of a donation of funds from MiddleOak Insurance, a young Red Oak tree was recently planted at the Arthur T. Cummings Elementary School.
“This is special because this whole area (between the basketball courts and the Cummings School) was once filled with bushes and trees that we all played in when we were children. To see a tree getting planted here again is very meaningful to me, and many others, I’m sure”, said Emilie DiMento.
Pictured in the photo are Emilie DiMento (Tree Commission), Brian Cleary (DPW), Dr. Anne Kelty (Asst. Director, DPW), Robert Ford Jr. (DPW), Janice Stevens (Tree Commission), Paul Roy (Principal, Elliot Whittier), Steve Roy (Principal, Elliot Whittier), David J. Hickey, Jr., P.E., (Director, DPW). Missing from photo is Keith Powers, (Senior Vice President & General Manager, MiddleOak Insurance)
Interested parties who may want to take part in the Re-leafing of Winthrop Project may contact DPW Assistant Director Dr. Anne Kelty or Director Dave Hickey at (617)846-1341.
